Happy Birthday?
Birthdays.
… Such days call for a look back.
Numbers change. But is that all that changes?
We tend to analyze our past by looking at our career growth, the money we’ve made, the things we’ve bought, and the growth of our relationships.
As for me, I am senseless on all of those.
I look back and I’m not so happy about any of those.
For the last 28 years, the only thing that I’m happy about is the rest I have so gotten close to.
The answers to my search. That’s all that matters right now.
It’s the I have known, and the truth that’s been revealed to me. To me, that’s worth a “happy” birthday.
I am most grateful for the man I am becoming and for the possibilities.
You tell me happy birthday, and that’s the only happy I can see.
